Bread deliveries for Syrians in Lebanon

A man asked the Messenger (PBUH) what the good qualities of Islam are. He replied “To feed (others) and to greet those whom you know and those whom you do not know.” (Bukhari)

Ten years of hunger. With the ongoing economic crisis in Lebanon, and in the aftermath of the Beirut blast, a staggering 94% of Syrian refugees are food insecure and urgently need help to access food. Help us to change this by providing regular bread deliveries this Ramadan and beyond.

€45 - Provide one family with 2 bread deliveries per week for 2 months.

€135 - Provide three families with 2 bread deliveries per week for 2 months.

€225 - Provide five families with 2 bread deliveries per week for 2 months.

Never going home

The continuing violence in Syria means that these families can’t go home. Those who ordinarily work are restricted to low-paid daily labour, and have been pushed out of work due to the pandemic.

Your support is urgently needed to help keep Syrians fed as they struggle to stay nourished this Ramadan. Change starts here.

The best of us

The Messenger (PBUH) stressed the importance of feeding others: “The best of you are those who feed others.” (Ahmad)

Help us to provide bread to the most vulnerable Syrian refugees in Lebanon. With your help, we’ll be providing 890 families in South Lebanon with 3 packets of bread twice a week for 2 months.

In partnership with Islamic Welfare Association, this project will help 5,340 to be resilient to malnutrition during these difficult months, during which many are struggling to earn a living.

Fighting malnutrition

The 1.5 million Syrian refugees in Lebanon are facing extreme food insecurity. Even before the virus spread, 73% of Syrian refugees in Lebanon were living below the poverty line, and for those living in temporary shelters and camps, that figure soars - only 4% of Syrian refugees in Beqaa have secure access to regular food.

Why give through Human Appeal?

Human Appeal has been working in Lebanon for 30 years. Last year, you helped us to support 33,515 people. We provided weekly bread distributions to 10,980 Syrians, supported 2,616 people to stay nourished after the Beirut blast, and helped 24 people with repairs to their homes following the explosion.

We also supported 7,740 vulnerable people to stay warm through winter and sponsored the education of 1,175 Syrian children in Lebanon.

This Ramadan, multiply your blessings and help to fight hunger in Lebanon. Be the change.
