Entire families wiped out in Libya
The Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) said, ‘The believer’s shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.’ (Hadith Al-Tirmidhi)
Over 10,000 people are missing after Storm Daniel tore through Libya on 11 September, triggering deadly flooding. More than 11,000 people have been confirmed dead, with the number expected to rise to over 20,000.
€100 - Emergency survival pack: Provide a Libyan family with blankets, mattresses, and food essentials.
Many of Libya’s eastern towns have been affected but in Bayda and Derna the devastation is cataclysmic. In the port city of Derna, home to 100,000 people, entire communities have been washed away after two dams collapsed. 40,000 people have been displaced and need help to survive this disaster.
For families in Derna, these floods have been unimaginably shattering. 25 percent of Derna has been destroyed, with buildings razed to the ground and entire neighbourhoods inaccessible. Survivors, desperate to hear news of their missing loved ones, are traumatised and urgently need life-saving items including food and shelter.
