Torrential monsoon rains devastate Bangladesh once again

27 of the country's 75 districts have been affected by the floods, and entire infrastructures have been destroyed. Whole villages and communities across the districts of Sylhet and Sunamganj have been submerged. Homes, shops, hospitals and schools as well as vital infrastructures such as power supply lines, communication lines, water sources, and roads are all severely damaged or are currently underwater.

Over 300,000 people have been displaced from their homes due to the flooding, and many families are stranded and could run out of food within days.

Many people have been affected by floods for the second time in a month after severe flooding also struck the region in mid-May. Many families have lost everything, including their possessions, livelihoods, homes and even their loved ones.

Donate with Human Appeal, save a life

Human Appeal is on the ground already responding to the crisis with the support of our Emergency Fund, which allows us to provide aid to extreme disasters without waiting for donations to arrive. We’re currently providing vital aid to those affected by the devastating floods. So far, our teams have supported 444 vulnerable families in the Sylhet district in Bangladesh. Each family received a food parcel with rice, oil, flour, sugar, lentils, vermicelli and dried milk. They also received a safety kit including masks and sanitizers, water purification tablets and a warm blanket.

We have 30 years of experience in responding to emergencies all over the globe.

Without vital aid, millions of people will suffer and are at huge risk. With water sources contaminated and washing facilities destroyed, there is an even greater risk of disease, putting even more lives in danger.

Donate now to help the people of Bangladesh. Timely action is integral so we can help people begin to rebuild their lives following this devastating disaster.
