For a great many of our friends and supporters, Ramadan is a very special time. It is a time to reflect on the importance of their spiritual lives as well as a time to celebrate with their friends, families and communities.
It is of course also a time to think of those who are less fortunate and to express their faith in carrying out deeds of generosity, including those of charity.
We will be marking Ramadan throughout the holy month with a number of events, culminating in the celebration of Eid, not only on the Friday the 15th June throughout the country, but also in a special gathering a week later on Sunday the 23rd in the ICCI, Clonskeagh.
This celebration (full details here) will focus on sharing with those recently arrived from the Syria region and now living in direct provision centers throughout the country. We will be arranging transport for these families to Clonskeagh and will hold a special celebration for the families including the giving of Eid gifts to the children. After this special reception, we hope that the wider community will join us and celebrate altogether.
The event will be opened by Josepha Madigan, T.D., Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht.
There will be no entrance fee to this celebration, and there will be refreshments and games for the children.
Celebrate Ramadan with us throughout the month and at our Eid events!
