We Need Your Spare Winter Coats
Human Appeal Ireland is asking Irish people if they have good winter coats they no longer wear?
Inspired by the hugely successful WrapUp campaigns elsewhere*, Human Appeal Ireland is asking Irish people to respond to homelessness in a concrete way that will demonstrate caring and solidarity.
Homelessness is a complicated issue that demands long-term solutions. We know that homeless people in Ireland have a host of needs – proper long-term accommodation people can call home, social and psychological supports, and sustainable livelihoods. But a first step is showing we care, that we understand, and that we are willing to act. WrapUp is one way that people can get involved.
Many of these are availing of emergency overnight accommodation, but they have to spend their days on the streets in damp cold weather. Many homeless people we meet in our work regularly ask us for warmer clothing. With the help of those who care about homelessness, we can provide for this basic need.
We’re setting a target of providing proper, durable warm coats and winter gloves and hats to 300 homeless people this Winter.
Do you want to give it a new life? Well, now is your chance to give to someone who really needs it.
Wrap Up Dublin/Cork* is a winter campaign where we ask people like you to donate your winter coat so we can re-home it through our homeless shelters and refuges. Simple. We're into one thing only - doing something good to keep people warm.
This project is being run in association with Muslim Sister’s of Éire in Dublin and Cork. We are looking for partners in other cities in Ireland who can assist in collection of coats, logistics and distribution. If you or a homeless group you work with think you can help, please contact Human Appeal Ireland on firstname.lastname@example.org or (01) 291 0006.

If you have collected 10 or more suitable coats, we may be able to collect these from you in the Dublin or Cork areas. Call us to discuss collection.
