The River Nile burst its banks in several localities causing further damage and displacement. The rising water level in other areas has left many worried of further damage.
Many are left sleeping in front of their destroyed houses and on any dry patch of land they can find like sidewalks.
The flash floods have left over 100,000 people homeless and exposed to hunger and disease. Those affected are in urgent need of food, shelter, household supplies, clean water, sanitation and health services.
Sudan Floods Appeal
The recent floods in Sudan took over 100 lives and displaced half a million people.
Heavy rains and flooding in most of the country left a trail of destruction. Homes were destroyed, the country's infrastructure was damaged and the once fertile land was covered with water destroying crops and livelihoods.
The government has declared a state of emergency for the next 3 months. Those affected desperately need humanitarian support. Many are left sleeping on pavements and make shift homes.
Human Appeal is working tirelessly to provide immediate relief to those affected. We are distributing food, water, and hygiene kits. We are also providing mats and mosquito nets. The stagnant water is a breeding ground for insects like mosquitoes which cause disease.
Khartoum, the most affected state, is home to many refugees, who have once again lost their homes and livelihoods.
We need your support to reach those affected. Please donate to our emergency appeal to help provide relief.
