Gaza Emergency Update
It is still the holy month of Ramadan and yet the offensive in Gaza continues. Thanks to the unwavering support of our donors, the Human Appeal team in Gaza has been working tirelessly around the clock, assisting civil defence teams on the ground by removing rubble and rescuing the injured, as well as distributing essential medical aid, food and water.
We’ve sent two lorry loads of medical kits to Shifa Hospital’s intensive care unit. The kits include sheets, blankets, IV stands and surgical kits. Our emergency medical team is also working 24/7 at the hospital in three shifts, with each shift being taken by 12 paramedics.
Thanks to your continuing support, we’ve been able to deliver 12,000 Iftar meals to families whose homes have either completely demolished or partially damaged, plus our 1,600 food parcels project, part of our Ramadan campaign, is also underway and will be delivered soon.
We’ve provided much-needed financial support to 210 families whose homes were completely demolished in the north and south areas of Gaza, and we plan to help more families over the coming days.
Portable clean water has been distributed to over 5,000 people who are staying in shelters/schools – this has come from the Human Appeal water purification plant, which we installed last year.
Bedding and blankets
Much-needed bedding and blankets are also being provided to the families who are having to stay in shelters.
Please help us to continue supporting the people of Gaza. They are extremely vulnerable to the escalating violence and desperately need us.
